I am having so much fun being Azzy's Mimi. As I was scrolling through the pictures on my phone, I couldn't help but notice that most of them were of her! There are so many fun layouts waiting to be made to remember her little personality at this age. We all know the first few years go by so fast. . ..

We have discovered that Azzy absolutely LOVES rubber ducks and any little bath squirter toys. She chews on them all the time. Sometimes when Alexis would bring her over, I would go to take her out of her car seat and see her little fingers clutching a rubber duck. When I realized that she played with them all the time, I couldn't resist buying her a tube of bath squirters in all shapes and colors. We have fish, a whale, a swan, a crab, an otter, and the list goes on. They are bright, colorful and fun to play with and she will grab for them all the time. These pictures were obviously taken during bath time, and I love her intense expression and she chews on her ducky.

Scrapbooking Tips

I have so much to say about the process of making this layout. It went together so quickly, and I love how it turned out!

The first thing to inspire me were the photos. Because they were bath photos, I knew I wanted to incorporate bubbles into my design. When I was going through papers for Caleb's Yellow Submarine layout, I found this bubble pattern paper. I didn't know how I was going to use it yet, but I knew it would be perfect for this layout, so I set it aside.

I am part of the Facebook group Creative Scrapbooker's Magazine Sketchy Group where every month they release a free sketch, and group members can post the layout they designed using the sketch. It's always amazing to me to see how many different layouts can be produced from the same starting point. No two look alike! Joining this or a group like this can be a great source of inspiration. When I saw a monthly sketch that had three photos, I immediately pictured the layout you see.

I originally started with the idea of putting the pictures directly on the bubble paper and then adhering that onto a white base page. However, when I playing around with that, I thought it looked way too busy. My solution was to use the bubble paper for the base page and cut a solid piece of blue to be the mat for my photos, title and journaling. It looked much cleaner that way.

Other than the photos of Azzy, my favorite element on this page is the bubble border I created with my Silhouette die cutting machine. I stretch the design to fit under my photos and go a little past the edge of them. I cut the shadow piece in white so there would be a contrast between the bubbles and background. Then I cut the bubbles in two different shades of aqua blue using scraps of cardstock.

After I adhered the bubbles, I added some Jewel Breeze Nuvo drops to give them a little shine - just like real bubbles would have. I was pleased with this subtle detail which I felt added to the overall look of the page.

I cut my title and rubber duck embellishments using my Silhouette as well, and to compliment the yellow of the ducks, I used yellow paper.

Once I had the idea of where I was going, everything was simple to put together, and I finished this layout in less than an hour.
