Do you ever have photos that just brighten your day every single time you see them? Whenever I see these photos of Azzy peeking over the fence, I can’t help but smile. I remember the day so clearly, I was at work, and I got a text from sister-in-law and these photos popped up. Azzy goes to the most fabulous in-home day care, and it just happens to be located next door to my sister-in-law. That’s how we found out about JoJo’s House. While the kids were out in the backyard playing, they lifted Azzy up so she could say hi to Christine and the kids. That’s how I got these pictures. Immediately my day got brighter, and I loved them so much I started envisioning a layout that was just as bright.
Scrapbooking Tips

I get inspiration in some pretty unique places. When I saw these photos, my mind went right to the Tim Allen show, Home Improvement, where he always have conversations over the fence with his next-door-neighbor, Wilson. Wilson always greeted him by saying, “Hi-di-Ho, Neighbor,” and that was my starting point for this layout.
I had also just received some beautiful Coco Vanilla papers and flower packs, and my eye went immediately to the rainbow paper. I used the full sheet of pattern paper as my base page, and then die cut a picket fence out of white Cardstock. To keep even proportions, I had the fence go up eight inches to cover 2/3 of the base page.

The previous year at We Create, I had taken a class with Allison Davis where she paired similar colored flowers in rainbow order. I created the same effect here, matching the flowers to the color order of the rainbow. To be honest, this was the longest part of the layout. I struggled getting the right placement and figuring out which flowers to pop up and which to adhere flat, and then getting the leaves to look “just right”, but I’m happy with the finished product.

My last touch was to add some stitching to the rainbow. I poked holes and matched my thread color to the rainbow. I had so much detail on the bottom of the layout, I wanted something simple to embellish the top third of my page.
This was a fun, bright and cheery layout to create!
