A tradition that our blended family has started is having a St.nPatrick’s Day dinner. I had never had corn beef and cabbage until I married Jim - and he said it's one of his favorite meals. On our first St. Patrick’s Day together he just assumed I would be making corn beef. Thankfully it’s super easy to make and it’s a meal that (almost) all of us like.

I really like that we have developed some traditions that are new for the Cunniff-Bleau family! I think it’s so important to have some shared memories around traditions, and something else we share is the fact we all have a little bit of Irish in us!

It might be a little thing, but sometimes it’s fun to just to have something to celebrate.

Scrapbooking Tips & Tricks

This layout was a fun challenge for me to tackle! I saw this shamrock wreath die cut and knew instantly I wanted to use it, but also knew it would be time consuming.

I pulled out some spring themed and generic 6x6 paper pads and picked out five different green pattern paper sheets. I then traced the shamrocks onto the paper and cut them out just a hair smaller. Using my Nuvo fine tip glue pen, I carefully glued the top of each shamrock to the back of the. One thing I’ve learned when using larger die cuts is to glue as I go. It’s impossible to do all your cutting than go back and glue them all.

When choosing my green papers I looked for different shades of green - I had lime greens, dark forest green, and an apple green.

My original intention was not to include a rainbow on this layout, keeping a monochromatic look, but when I was looking through titles on the Silhouette Design Studio, I saw this title and then realized that it was the perfect size to fill in the wreath and it actually balanced the two photos. In the end I really liked the pop of color.

As a final touch I used some green Stickles to add some circles and sparkle around the outside of the wreath. It also added some glitter and texture to the layout.

I had a lot of fun putting this all together and I’m already envisioning the photos I want to take for this year’s St. Patrick’s Day dinner.
