I love this sweet picture of Azzy and my niece Eden. I think special pictures deserve special treatment on a scrapbook layout, and that was the case with this photo!
My niece, Eden, actually lives next door to Azzy's daycare provider, and she goes over after naptime to help with the kids. When we ask Azzy who she played with at Jojo's House, she always says, “En!”
Their friendship is so sweet and precious to watch. When Azzy had her second birthday party, Eden and her siblings were there. Azzy had a blast having Eden there, all to herself. They played in the sprinkler together, and Azzy wanted Eden to be with her when it was time to break open the piñata! When they sat down to eat their lunch, it was Azzy and Eden together at the picnic table. I walked up and saw Azzy’s little arm around Eden and snapped a picture.
So to commemorate this special friendship I put a layout together, and I love the bright and happy feel it has.
Scrapbooking Tips
Two things inspired this layout: a new Bella Blvd paper collection and a Paige Evans cut file.
The heart cut file I chose originally stretched diagonally across the page. Looking back, I don’t know what made me this do this, but I edited the cut file to have the hearts stretch horizontally across my base page. Then came the tedious process of picking the bright colorful papers to back the hearts. I tried to spread the patterns out so the same pattern didn’t end up next to each other. I also loosely tried to create visual triangles with the colors.

Once all the pattern paper was in place to my liking, I had the fun task of embellishing the hearts. I started by adding stitched borders to approximately 1/3 of the hearts, then I added tiny butterfly stickers to a handful. My final embellishment was adding three word stickers deliberately in a visual triangle.
Because there were so many pretty patterns on the page already, I chose a more solid pattern to mat my photos. I chose bright pink because I thought it added a nice contrast to all the greens in the photos and pulled out a pop of color from the watermelon in the photo.

I created my title with another die cut file. It was perfect and right to the point: Best Friends. Eden really is Azzy’s best friend! My final touches were the clusters of butterflies around the photos. I have heard multiple scrapbooking teachers talk about working in odd numbers because it it more pleasing to the eye. So I did three clusters of three. I paired one larger butterfly with two smaller butterflies and then used Stickles to add some bling and sparkle because they two girls definitely sparkle!
I think everybody little girl needs a friend like Eden - someone to have fun with but to look up to at the same time!
