I love creating layouts of everyday life, and these photos capture a funny memory that I wanted to include in Azzy's album. Alexis wanted to know exactly how much Azzy weighed at 6 moths and Jim improvised this baby scale using a laundry basket. Azzy was a great sport and laid in a basket for all of 30 seconds before she got bored and tried to get out!
Unless she is asleep, this little girl NEVER stops moving! She is curious and happy and is always looking around. I'm sure that when she is able to crawl and walk, she will be into trouble - not because she wants to cause mischief, but because she is so curious!
So this is a just-for-fun layout of sweet, happy Asmerelda to help us remember all the crazy things we do with her and how much we love her.
Scrapbooking Tips:
Unlike most of my layouts, I did not use a sketch to create this layout, but I did have some inspiration. I am part of Scrapbook Generation's Scrap Squad Facebook group which is always a great place for online crops, classes and inspiration. During their December 2022 online crop one of the challenges was to find a featured layout from another group member that we wanted to copy. I saw a layout with this basic design, and immediately gravitated to it. I made it my own though, and this was the finished result. I love it because I had to flex my creative muscles and play with pink paper - something I don't typically do.

One of the elements that I had so much fun creating were the accent squares. I layered stickers and used foam adhesive on some to create dimension, as you can see in the enlarged photo. I placed the bottom sticker directly on my paper and then layered the top two stickers with the foam tape.
To help the eye move across the page, I added some phrase sticker and the row of hearts under the journaling. These touches softened the edges of all the squares and rectangles.
I used pattern paper as the base page of this layout, and that is something I do not do often. However, because I had a solid cardstock layered on top of the busy pattern, I took my Exacto knife and cut a large 10x10 square out of the center of the paper. This is a great way to stretch your stash, save some money and get more than one layout out of a sheet of paper.
Altogether, this page came together quickly, in less than an hour, and was so much fun to make!
